Where the money goes

One paw at a time: spay, heal, empower.

Pets Rule Care Project brings free veterinary care to communities where it is out of reach.

Our volunteer vets and techs provide spay and neuter surgeries, preventative medicine and treatment for minor conditions in places overwhelmed by pet overpopulation. We work through local partners who know their communities. In Costa Rica that partner is Guayabo Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, which recruits patients, hosts the clinic and handles aftercare.

Our 2025 clinic in Costa Rica.

140
dogs and cats received free spay/neuter surgery and medical care at our first clinic in 2025.
409
patient visits in 2026: 104 spay/neuter surgeries and 305 vaccine and wellness exams across Isla Chira and Guayabo.
150 + 400
the July 2027 goal: 150 spay/neuter surgeries and 400 wellness and vaccine visits, plus a prevention program for ehrlichiosis, the tick-borne disease that is the region's dominant health problem.
